5 Trends I learnt From My Latest Alexis Crush – Resort Collection 2017

By L.R.

No glitter, no magic dust but if I were a royal, I would want Alexis as my wardrobe designer! Before my dear friend and fashion blogger KT from KT⋅The⋅Blondie told me about this brand, it was always Elie Saab first for me over every other brand. There is something about Alexis that pulled me towards it… But definitely those two designer brands stand on top – not one over the over! If I were to go to a festival, then I would go with Elie Saab but when it is a party – formal or informal – it should be Alexis.

Before I continue, I would like to make a small Announcement about the bloggers at THE RINK. I was recently notified about you guys mistaking S.C. for me! She is the beauty blogger at THE RINK and I’m the fashion blogger here! Unless S.C. informs me about comments written to me in her blog post, I will be unaware of your comments! I would love to hear from you guys and so, do comment on my blog posts to interact with me or you can always get in contact with me through the Contact page!

Back to my dear crush Alexis! The five trends that I instantly noticed in this brand are mentioned below! This truly is a high-end fashion brand!

Other than the fact that it has become one of my favourite brands and Resort Collection 2017 – Alexis a favourite collection, it is also one of the very first collections that has incorporated the Pantone’s Colour of the year – Green.

#1 Ruffles, frills and more ruffles!

Its all frills and ruffles this season for Alexis! The best thing about these frills and ruffles is that it has proved more is actually fine opposing the notion of “Less is more”. It brings about a very graceful feminine look with formality in tact! The fact that this style is there throughout the dress breaks so many rules! When fashion designers shouted out that a great pattern/motif/style is there, it should be balanced with a plain other half, Alexis sure did think differently!

#2 Monochromatic/ Di-chromatic Almost-Royal Outfits!

The monochromatic/ dichromatic looks give an elegant touch to the person! This cannot be done better than Alexis! It makes you look powerful and royal and the way a woman should feel – like a Queen!

#3 The Peak-a-Boo Trend Continues

The Peak-a-Book Trend started a while ago and it was highlighted at the Golden Globes party earlier this year! Alexis has explored this trend to a whole new level of cut-out uniform patterns throughout the well-tailored dress! Just enough skin to reveal and just enough covered – to bring about the aura of mystery!

#4 Its Spring! The Floral Outfit Season!

It is flowers everywhere with Alexis! Themed for the spring season, it unleashes the floral outfits from the Resort Collection. There are no major motifs spotted and instead, there are delicate embroidery of flowers and leaves throughout the dress.

#5 The Pleats are back

Formal and more formal, the pleats are back in the designer collections! The skirts do look like a come-back from a previous era but the sleeve pleats? They are something new! The skirt pleats are distinct because of the same-colour belt! It doesn’t look out of place or century although it is from another era! It is just Alexis! What more can I say?!

I have to say thank you to KT again for introducing me to one of my now-favourite brands! It looks classic and elegant with a formal silver lining! This collection features dresses and outfits that you can actually wear in your daily life unlike many other outfits showcased in the runways!!
