This is the last post in this series, I am giving to you the tips for the key part in a makeover: the foundation that keeps everything together (pun intended). I hope you guys enjoy this post too. The response I have got for this series is very heartwarming, I hope to continue making more content that will be of use to you guys!
BLOT YOUR SKIN WITH A TISSUE after applying foundation to remove excess oils from your face. This helps to prolong the life of your make-up base. Then set with powder.
WASH SPONGES or special applicators regularly. Use warm water and a little dishwashing liquid to remove impurities and bacteria.
FOUNDATION CAN SLIDE OFF in time due to the skin’s natural oil secretion. Avoid this use a formula incorporating oil absorbers such as talc or nylon powders.
FOR THE BEST RESULTS WITH LIQUID FOUNDATIONS, warm it on the back of you hand and use your fingertips to smooth it on.
I hope you guys enjoyed this series, I will be back soon with another post to simplify your life!
In continuation of last week’s series, this week I am going to share some awesome tips with you guys on eyebrows, because chances are that when someone looks at your eyes they will notice your eyebrows too.
SHARPEN BLUNT TWEEZERS by running sandpaper over the inner tips. This will give you a much smoother overall experience when plucking.
IF PLUCKING IS TOO PAINFUL, smooth on some baby’s teething gel to numb the area temporarily. This will make plucking a more endurable process.
SUBSTITUTE A TOOTHBRUSH for a brow comb to groom your brows if you need a new one or just can’t be asked to get one.
IF YOU ARE A SLAPDASH when applying brow pencil, rub the pencil on the back of you hand. Run over these marks with a brow brush or a cotton bud and use this to shade the brows instead.
This is the penultimate post of this series, but I am still willing to post update posts if you want any extra tips on a specific subject, just leave a comment and I will get to you asap!
This week I am going to look at tips to aid perfecting the most defining part of ones face (in my opinion). They say that your eyes are the windows to your soul, so if many people are going to look into them we need to maintain them in style. However who has the time to do so in the rush of daily life? Thus I present you with this week’s post!
TO LIFT DROOPY EYES, shade the outer corners of the eyes, tapering colour upwards and outwards.
IF YOUR EYE PENCIL CRUMBLES as you are using it, don’t fear: clasp the nib between your fingers and run it under cold tap water. This process temporarily hardens the nib and allows you to continue perfecting your look.
TO ENHANCE SMALL EYES, avoid using dark eyeshadow and concentrate colour on the socket lines and outer corners of your eyes.
IF YOU ARE SHORT-SIGHTED, corrective lenses will magnify your eyes, so opt for eyeshadows with muted colours.
IF YOU ARE FAR SIGHTED, glasses make your eyes seem smaller so go for brighter eyeshadow and several coats of mascara to make your eyes stand out!
Hope these tips will be of help to you guys and stay tuned to collect more tips on this series.
Hi guys I am back this week with a new feature in our series, these highly handy tips will definitely come to save you at some point of time when a nail crises occurs so be prepared to battle them with these tips!
NEVER TRIM YOUR CUTICLES, they protect your nail bed and act as a barrier for bacteria from entering your system. Instead gently push them back with a wet facecloth when in the shower.
IF YOU HAVE UNEVEN RIDGES avoid pearly or frosted nail polishes as they highlight imperfections.
IF YOU’RE PUSHED FOR TIME give your nude nails a high shine by running a chamois buffer over them in horizontal sweeping motions.
TO CLEAN UP ANY SMUDGES, use an old but clean lip brush dipped in nail polish remover.
IF YOUR NAIL PLATE IS STAINED from highly pigmented nail colours, dissolve 2 denture-cleansing tablets in a glass of water. Dip a nail brush in this solution and gently scrub your nails clean. Follow this by washing your hands with warm water.
See you guys soon with another set of useful tips, as I have mentioned before, if you guys have any specific queries feel free to leave them in the comments below!
Hi guys! I am starting a new series called Trade Secrets for the next few days. This section is to show you guys what are the hacks professionals use to create that perfection within minutes, we will also look at alternative solutions for emergencies. This post I am going to talk about tricks used with blushers. I hope they give you that special factor the next time you need it in seconds.
CREATE YOUR OWN BLUSHER by using a natural pink or apricot shade of lipstick and dab it onto your cheek apples. Blend thoroughly using your finger.
TO FADE A DOUBLE CHIN, blend a shader onto the area to make it less dominant. If you darken the double chin, it will recede into the background.
USE CREAMY EYESHADOW in natural shades if you run out of cream blusher in the last moment.
TO TRANSFORM DAYTIME BLUSH into evening glamour, dust a shimmery gold powder as a blusher and gradually build the colour.
FOR A FLATTERING FINISH if you don’t wear eyeshadow, sweep blusher over your eyelids to give subtle definition.
Hopefully these tips help you, leave a comment for tips on any specific issue you would like in the coming weeks.
Hey guys! This is the first post in the Beauty section of The Rink; we are starting with these 5 awesome tips to achieve a naturally flawless look. Hope it helps you guys!
Begin by applying a hydrating preparation to give your skin a smooth finish. The primer will also act as the perfect fixating foundation. Always blot your skin with a tissue after moisturising to remove any excess surface oil.
Conceal pimples and disguise imperfections. To touch out blemishes, apply concealer with a fine-tipped brush. Dab colour onto the centre of the pimple, then feather outwards.
Use a foundation with a built-in sunscreen. Smooth it on with your fingertips, warming it to melt into your skin. Only apply to areas that need it, where the skin tone is uneven, to disguise open pores. Excess foundation causes a fake look.
Define the lower lash line with a taupe kohl pencil, and then set with a light dusting of eye-shadow (the same shade used on the eye socket). This gives a more natural look than using liner on the upper lash line.
Use a lip liner in a shade that is similar to the natural colour of your lips. Outline and shade the entire lip area. Next, apply a reddish brown lipstick and blot with a tissue. Reapply and repeat this process several times.
